Desperate for Desperate Housewives

Who caught the season premiere of Desperate Housewives last Sunday? The question should be: who didn't? I was really looking forward to the new episodes, seeing that last season ended with such exciting loose ends. As always, Desperate Housewives didn't disappoint. You know it was only a matter of time before Susan figured out the connection between Mike and Zach. I loved that fantastic scene between Gaby and Carlos when they both realized that neither one of them is a very "decent" person. Watching Lynette "multitask" in her job interview was hilarious- hey, whatever gets the job done! Maybe most unforgettably, however, was Bree's "breakdown" at her husband's funeral. It was so powerful...and yet so like her, for better or worse. It was just a fantastic opening episode, really setting up the pieces for another great season.

It's been so long since season one, however, that now might be a good time to get yourself caught up on any of the storylines you might have missed. And for anyone who has no idea what I was just talking about, now is your chance to catch up to the rest of us: Desperate Housewives: Season 1 on DVD, now available at Best Buy! Even better, if you buy it now you will also get a free Desperate Housewives calendar! Not only will you get caught up on the episodes with the DVD, but the calendar will help you to never miss another one! ;)

As an additional bonus, there is a great deal for anyone interested in seeing what that other new phenomenal show is all about. What show is that? Lost, of course! Save $10 when you buy both Desperate Housewives: Season 1 and Lost: Season 1 on DVD. There is no better way to prepare for this year's fantastic TV season.

Desperate Housewives: Season 1 not only contains all the great episodes from the first season, but is filled with all kinds of special features to make anyone feel like a resident of Wisteria Lane.

The special features include:

  • Exclusive unrated deleted scenes, including alternate openings and endings
  • Audio commentary from creator Marc Cherry and his mother (not to be missed!)
  • "Dirty Laundry" - hilarious gag reel
  • "Secrets of Wisteria Lane" - interactive neighborhood map and behind-the-scenes trivia
  • "Confidentially Speaking" - Dr. Goldfine's secret sessions revealed
  • "Nicollette Sheridan's NFL Spot" - the controversial pregame feature that made headlines

The free calendar offer expires before the next episode airs, so act fast! I've already got mine hanging up...with this coming Sunday circled, of course ;)
