So, not too long ago I wrote about all the fabulous products available at IslandSurf.com. Now that I finally made my first purchase there I can rave about how happy I am with my new Rainbow sandals.
I've lived in Southern California for most of my life and attended school at UC Santa Barbara, so I am well accquainted with the concept of wearing flip-flops in settings other than the beach. In fact, while in college it was quite common to see people wearing flip-flops at parties, class and even out in the bar scene. And it wasn't just surfers who wore them. In Santa Barbara (and to a larger extent, all of Southern California) flip-flops are part of the standard issue uniform, almost as important as a hip pair of jeans or vintage t-shirts. The problem for me was always that prolonged use of my sandals wouldn't always leave my feet pain-free.
See, I have wide and flat feet, which means that wearing flip-flop sandals can sometimes give me foot pain since they typically provide zero arch support. In this respect, my Rainbow sandals are light years ahead of any other sandals I have worn. The sponge rubber that forms the sole is super thick (thanks to my purchasing the double-stack smooth leather model) and molds to my feet, giving me the arch support I so badly need to make my feet comfortale. These bad boys also are also built to last. The strap is guaranteed for life, which explains why all the other people I know who owned a pair have kept them for as long as humanly possible. The smooth tan leather exudes quality more than any other brand of sandals. Not to mention, that they are stylish to boot. Even if you aren't part of the California flip-flop sandals-as-everyday-footwear club, once you own a pair of Rainbows you will surely want to wear them at many more places than just the beach.
