Fun with HDTV

Today's Deal of the Day is one of my personal favorites. Our friends at etronics are currently having a huge holiday sale on thousands of items and one of the hidden gems I found was this 56in. Samsung Widescreen HDTV with DLP technology for the Cashbaq-only price of $2,133.99. That's over $1,000 off the regular price, folks! If you've been waiting to join the ranks of HDTV owners then this is the perfect TV for you.

Samsung has packed quite a bit of punch into this inexpensive package. With DLP Technology, images appear sharper, brighter and more vivid than on a standard television. The rich detail of High Definition TV broadcasts brings an entirely new element into your home entertainment experience. Watch any sporting event broadcast in HD and you will see what I mean. I watched last year's Super Bowl in HD on a friend's Samsung DLP TV and I was amazed by how lively the action seemed. Not only did the picture look pristine and amazing, but the sound made it feel like I was sitting on the 50 yard line instead of in a living room full of beer and nachos.

The 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio is also a plus as all HDTV broadcasts are displayed in widescreen format. Making your High Definition broadcasts mimic the feel of watching in a movie theatre. And with the various HDTV standards out there, it's good to know that Samsung has ensured that all four (480p, 480i, 720p and 1080i) are compatible on this television. They've also included a CableCard slot, so you can view your cable TV programming (even HD) without the need for a set-top box.
